The Federal Minister for Home Affairs, also referred to as the Home Minister, is a senior Minister of the Government of Wiltshire and head of the Home Office. As a senior government minister and a member of the cabinet, the Home Minister is also a member of the President's Privy Council and the National Security Council. In addition, the Home Minister often comes with the titles "Minister for Internal Affairs" and, recently, "Minister for Policing and Law Enforcement".
The current Minister for the Home Office is Sarah Serang of Kaitiaki Ropu.
Responsibilities
Corresponding to what is generally known as an interior minister in many other countries, the Home Minister's remit includes:
- Law enforcement in Wiltshire
- Matters of national security
- Issues concerning immigration
- Oversight of the Security Service.
Formerly, the Home Minister was the minister responsible for prisons and probation in Wiltshire; however in 3020 those responsibilities were transferred to the Ministry of Justice under the Minister for Justice and the Attorney General.
