Marshall Kim Langley Achebe II (born 11 February 2960), more commonly known as Kim Langley to differentiate him from his father Marshall L. Achebe, is a Wiltshirian statesman and politician who served as Governor-General of Wiltshire between 1 January 3013 until 31 December 3013, and again between 14 March 3015 until 31 December 3016. Langley has also served as a member of the Wiltshire National Assembly between September 3009 until January 3013, and again since February 3020. During his first tenure in the National Assemly, Langley served as Minister for Defence under Prime Minister Edward Jellico (June 3011 until January 3013). Langley is the only remaining member of the Wiltshire National Assembly to have been elected in the first general election (September 3009). His political career makes him notable as the first major black Wiltshirian politician and the longest serving Wiltshirian head of state in history.
Langley was first elected as a member of Jaresh Inyo's National Party, and later the Conservative Party. While he dropped his political identification to serve as Governor-General, Langley was later re-elected to the National Assembly as apart of Audrick Hill's Liberal Conservative Party. Langley was ranked as the third "greatest Wiltshirians" in history, in the "Top 50 Wiltshirians" list, made by the Washington Tribune in 3020, falling behind Gaius Selan and Jaresh Inyo.
Langley's father, Marshall L. Achebe, was Commander Star Fleet (the Leader and highest ranking officer of the Federation Star Fleet). He encouraged Langley to join the fleet. However, Langley instead opted to join the Federation Marines Division, operating planet-side. In interviews, Langley has confessed this decision was mostly due to his fear of space-flight. Langley fought in three separate wars, including the Second Borg Wars, the Andorian Civil War and the Federation/C.E. War. The last of which made him apart of the Federation migration to the Wiltshirian plains. During his tenure, he was decorated with the Presidential Medal of Valor and the Congressional Medal for Extraordinary Services.
