The government of Wiltshire, formally the federal government of Wiltshire, is the national government of Wiltshire, a federal parliamentary democracy located in the south-east of the Doggerlands, composed of four states and a federal district.

The federal government is based around the democratically elected Wiltshire National Assembly, which elects the Prime Minister of Wiltshire - the chief executive - who forms the rest of the federal government. The Prime Minister appoints members of the cabinet, who execute actions in the different federal ministries. Federal cabinet ministers are responsible to both the Prime Minister and the National Assembly. The Prime Minister directs the federal government, including the legislative priorities of the National Assembly, due to the constitutional obligation of the Prime Minister to command a majority of seats in the Assembly. Hence, the Prime Minister also appoints the Leader of the National Assembly. The position of Speaker is separate and is elected directly by the legislature.

A second federal legislative house - the States General - represents the federal states and is a body by which the states can cooperate. The States General does not hold legislative authority beyond that of the states themselves.

Powers of the governor

The Governor has executive authority over devolved issues - matters left to the states. They command the State Council, which has ultimate authority over state actions and decides the budget. They also represent their state in the States General.
