The Balancín Monarchy, formally the Monarchy of the Balancín Kingdoms, is the constitutional executive-monarchy of the Balancín Kingdoms from the Kingdom's formation in 2640 until the abolition of the monarchy in 2986 with the reformation of the United Federation of Planets, and again following the reformation of the monarchy in 3021. The current monarch is King Maximilian II, known as the Crusader, who ascended to the throne on 6 September 3022.

The Monarchy was first established in 2640 when the noblemen of the Madrilene colony of the Rock in Doggerland declared independence. The petty lord, popular among the local people, was crowned King Philip I of Balancía in 2640, fighting for Balancín Independence. Throughout his fifteen year reign, Philip I gained the reputation of a people's monarch. He allowed for the creation of the first Cortes Generales in 2648 and garnered the nickname Philip the Great.

The Monarchy continued in much the same form for the next three-hundred years as Doggerland became more and more developed and populated. Ultimately, with the reformation of the United Federation of Planets in the 2980s, Balancía opted to support the Federation and the monarchy was abolished. The Monarch sits upon the Iberian Throne.

In February 3021, Balancía El Presidente Emiliano Matias Alejandro announced a constitutional referendum on whether or not to restore the monarchy to a new constitutional position. In March, the referendum passed and the monarchy was restored with Charles VI re-ascending to the throne. Three months later, Charles passed away, causing a succession crisis for the throne.
