Willem Adis Heinberg (2 June 2966 - 5 July 3020) was a freedom fighter and activist politician who led the fight for Walkerton independence from Wiltshire and the Novanite Federation during the Walkerton Conflict of 3019. Heinberg served as Leader of the Walkerton National Party (WNP) between 3019 and 3020, prior to his death. His actions during the Walkerton Conflict had the WNP declared an illegal political party and forced Heinberg into exile in the Eastern Federal Republic.
Prior to his rise to take control of Walkerton in 3019, Heinberg served as a politician within the WNP. He held a seat in both the Walkerton City Council and the Wiltshire National Assembly. When he was elected Leader of the WNP in 3019, he led the party to victory in the local elections. Heinberg became Mayor of Walkerton and started the process to hold the Walkerton Independence Referendum in June 3019. The referendum was denounced by the Wiltshire Election Authority as "invalid" and "does not represent a poll of the electorate". In addition, the referendum was not permitted by the Wiltshire Assembly, and as such was illegal.
The referendum was a vote in favour of independence. Despite polling irregularities and claims of voter fraud (mostly due to the lack of WEA supervision), Heinberg and the WNP used it as a mandate for independence and on 6 June 3019 declared Walkerton "an independent republic". Heinberg became the Chancellor of the Walkerton Republic, however, this was heavily disputed by authorities within and outside of Walkerton. He signed the Unabhangigkeischarta (Independence Charter).
Novanite President Franklin Morris took action immediately, fearing wider discontent in other areas of the NF. He ordered the arrest of Heinberg and his allies, forcing him into exile. He fled to the Eastern Federal Republic where he sought asylum. Following this, public information on Heinberg faded. He became lost to history as Wiltshire, and Walkerton, faced the second half of 3019 and the devastation that ensued.
In his final days, Heinberg continued to hold asylum in the EFR. He was killed during the invasion of the EFR by the Chisel Enterprises forces of the New Corporate Republic on 5 July 3020. Following his death, President Gaius Selan declared the WNP "legal again", on the condition that they would not illegally succeeded once again.
