The Walkerton Conflict is a conflict within the southern township of Walkerton in its fight for independence from the Province of Wiltshire and the Novanite Federation. The conflict began on May 4, 3019 when the people of Walkerton voted in favour of independence. On the 6th of May, the Walkerton Local Authority declared independence, naming Willem Heinberg (the Chairman of the Walkerton National Party) as Chancellor. However, almost immediately, this started a conflict between the Novanite Federal Government and the self-declared independent government.
The Novanite government did not recognise the referendum and denounced it before the results had been announced. Novanite President, Franklin Morris, had been clear since the day of the referendum; Walkerton was apart of the Novanite Federation and so conflict was inevitable.
