Kurt Antonov is a Minevgrad politician who is currently serving as Mayor of Minevgrad in Wiltshire. Antonov previously served as the Federal Minister for Minevgrad under the Eastern Federal Republic, and became a loud advocate for Minevgrad succession from EFR and membership of the Novanite Federation. In April 3019, when Minevgrad was ceded to the Novanite Federation, Antonov was unanimously elected the Director of the Province of Minevgrad. Antonov is a member of the Socialist Party, and became Leader of the Minevgrad Socialist Party following its merger with the national party. Antonov is a democrat, and argued for membership of the DUOD, NF and other larger democratic organizations because of this.
During the Wiltshire Independence Referendum, Antonov urged the Wiltshirian people to vote against the proposition. However, following Hurricane Sarina and the turn against the Presidency of Marco Pierre, Antonov joined Jim Balfour in declaring independence. Antonov is firmly against Minevgrad independence, fearing influence from larger, less democratic states, and so joined Wiltshire in forming the Third Wiltshire Republic. During the NCR occupation of Wiltshire and Minevgrad, Antonov lived in exile with President Gaius Selan, returning to become the Leader of the Minevgrad City Council and Mayor of Minevgrad.
Prior to his career in politics, Antonov served as an Army general in the Almere Socialist Republic military, commanding troops during the August and October Conflicts of 3018.
