Kenta Tamihere is a Lorikeetian veteran and politician who is currently serving as Perehitini, the head of the government. He was previously the guardian of life during the administration of his predecessor, Peter Panuelo. Tamihere is the leader of Kaitiaki Ropu, leading the party to a resounding victory in the December 3025 national caucuses.
Perehitini (3025-present)
Tamihere became perehitini on 3 December 3025 following his party's victory in the December 3025 national caucuses. He was appointed by TΔhΔ Kaito AumΔkua, following a discussion on which guardians would sit on the Matahui. It was decided that the grand coalition of all parties in parliament would continue, with Matahui seats allocated based on parliamentary size. As such, it was decided that Kaitiaki Ropu would take three seats; E Tu Ake would take two seats; and Aroha Hapu and Taiao Ropu would both take a single seat.
Ral Temei was appointed perehitini tuarua and retained his position as guardian of knowledge. Leo Jakarta became guardian of wealth. Aymen Grace remained guardian of the interior. Yoshi Kawakami became guardian of justice. Two new guardians joined the Matahui (Jakob De Vries became guardian of life and La'ula Malik became guardian of culture).
In his first speech following the national caucuses, Tamihere said his administration would focus on reforms to public policing and the rule of law.
