The Dark Angels Navy is the space-based naval branch of the Dark Angels Corporation. It was one of the first programs to be created during the beginning foundations of the Dark Angels on Taurus. The Dark Angels Navy is the most funded and most powerful of all the branches in the Dark Angels Military. The main responsibilities of the Dark Angels Navy were the projection of force and the guarding of Angelian assets. These two obligations take many forms: from performing wide-scaled attacks and invasions, to escorting and supporting other branches of the military, and reconnaissance. The navy is organized into fleets, each consisting of different ship variants with specialized roles. Fleets are able to be deployed in space or in atmosphere. Led by an admiral, each fleet is expected to carry out orders and missions demanded by the Arbiter.

Ship Classes

Dreadnought

Dreadnoughts are the largest starship classification. Dreadnoughts are exceptionally rare and would really serve only as the flagship in important fleets. The main attribute for these vessels was extreme firepower. A single dreadnought could typically hold off a fleet on its own. They are also very important logistically, and entire battles can be controlled or dominated by a single dreadnought. They are the most expensive to produce.

Battleship

Battleships are large warships intended to engage other enemy capital ships. They typically carry large amounts of anti-capital ship weaponry.

Cruiser

Cruisers are the standard size ships. These types of ships make up the majority of most fleets. They are very well armed with large weapons and are made to take down other capital ships.

Carrier

Carrier-class ships have the sole purpose of transporting and deploying smaller fighter craft into battle. They tend to be some of the largest capital ships around due to the need to hold and transport large numbers of fighters, bombers, and other craft. Carriers suffer from a lack of personal offensive and defensive ability and rely on their aircraft or the rest of their fleet to protect them.

Destroyer

Destroyers are fast, maneuverable, long-endurance warships intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy, or battle group and defend them against powerful short-range attackers. They are medium-sized capital ships intended to screen against enemy fighters and also engage larger capital ships.

Interdictor

Interdictors are ships whose sole purpose is to provide tactical advantages during space battles, utilizing technology such as gravity-well generators and anti-EMP devices to disrupt enemy movement and attacks.

Frigate

Frigates are capital ships, which, while they would typically be used to protect larger ships, have more versatile potential than corvettes. Frigates have heavy anti-starfighter capabilities, can transport starfighters or cargo, or be converted into medical stations.

Corvette

The main role of corvettes is to protect larger ships from enemy fighters. As such, these ships are typically very small, very fast, and their weaponry is dedicated to anti-starfighter laser cannons instead of turbo lasers which would be more useful against larger ships.

Starfighter

No one can deny the value of single-fighter aircrafts. Starfighters provide a new dimension from which to attack and defend, and can carry payloads ranging from missiles to bombs to supplies for ground troops. Starfighters are extremely effective compared to even the best guns as they are more accurate and have the benefit of extreme maneuverability.

The Dark Angels Navy is broken up into 5 fleets: North fleet, South fleet, East fleet, West fleet, and Center fleet. Altogether, they are known collectively as the Dark Angels Armada.
