James Brown

From TCH Archive

James Edward Brown, sometimes referred to as Jed Brown, (born October 22, 2974) is a Wiltshirian politician currently serving as Leader of United Wiltshire. He has previously served as Chancellor of the Exchequer and Foreign Minister in 3019. Brown was a member of the Conservative Party, challenging President Gaius Selan in the 3020 Presidential Election. He would then leave the Conservative Party, which had failed to achieve access to the national ballot in the June 3020 General Election, to join the Liberal Conservative Party in an attempt to become their leader. After failing this, he left the Liberal Conservatives to form a new political party, United Wiltshire.

Brown served as Chancellor under Prime Minister Audrick Hill, and was tipped to be his successor following his resignation in 3019. However, as an anti-Novanite candidate, he lost to Samantha Schrำงder, the pro-Novanite candidate. He would then serve as Foreign Minister under Schrำงder. During his four months in the cabinet, he is most notable for his "traditional conservative" views and "strongly discouraging" Prime Minister Hill in holding the NNF referendum, which would ultimately end Hill's career. Brown would go onto lose his seat in the National Assembly in the June 3019 Election. He re-gained his seat as Leader of the Conservatives in January 3020, only to lose it again in June 3020.
