Jaresh Mathias Inyo (3 January 2952 - 17 May 3014) was a Grizzelan and Wiltshirian politician and statesman who served as the 33rd (and final) President of the United Federation of Planets, and later as the 1st and 3rd Prime Minister of Wiltshire. Inyo led the Federation through the Federation/C.E. War, which saw the Federation cut off from its holdings on Terra and Inyo deposed in 2998. Inyo would become a founding member of the Wiltshirian state, being elected its first Prime Minister in 3009. Inyo's life has caused him to become one of the most recognizable names in Doggerland, which helped his daughter's own political aspirations to become Wiltshirian Prime Minister in 3020.
Inyo was a member of the Republican Party, being their Congressional Leader and Speaker of the House of Representatives. He became Republican Leader in 2988 when Republicans took control of Congress in the 2987 mid-term elections. He served as Speaker until 2993. In 2993, President Grand Tarkin was assassinated and, due to the vacancy in the position of Vice President, Inyo was sworn in as President to fight the impending war with Chisel Enterprises. While the start of the war saw relative success against C.E., the Galactic Catacylsm of 2998 crippled the Federation's ability to muster an intergalactic response. By the end of 2998, the Federation had been formally dissolved and Inyo deposed as President. Inyo went onto lead a migration caravan of Federation refugees to the Wiltshirian plains of Doggerland. These settlements later grew and would become the Juneville, Walkerton, and Rockfield settlements (including 10 other, more minor, settlements). Eventually, in 3009, under Inyo's leadership, all but one (Rockfield) united into the Wiltshire Republic. Inyo was chosen to become the Interim Prime Minister, establishing a Caretaker Ministry. He would win a full term as Prime Minister, and would serve two non-consecutive terms between July 3009 and June 3011.
Towards the end of his time as Prime Minister, his health became a growing concern for Inyo. There was significant rumour and controversy over Inyo's ability to continue in the role. Many Socialist opposition ads featured "tired Inyo" and "Worn-out Inyo" ads. Despite this, he continued to be popular in the country. He voluntarily resigned in 3011 in order to make way for his successor, Deputy Prime Minister Edward Jellico. All in all, Inyo formed four ministries (Caretaker, Second, Third, and Fourth).
