The Wiltshire National Party is the governing political party in the Province of Wiltshire currently led by Director Fillmore Grey. Grey formed the National Party on June 30, 3019 as he merged the political parties of Wiltshire First, the Liberal Alliance and the Green Party into a single governing party. The parties that make up the National Party won a majority of the seats (combined) and so formed the government, appointing Grey as Director as a compromise between those in the Green Party unhappy with the leadership of Bernard Canterbury (as leader of the largest party in the coalition of Wiltshire First). Many expected this to be a political failure as appointing an unknown politician with little name recognition seemed to be near political suicide. However, Grey's popular sored after a hostage situation in Wiltshire just prior to his appointment and his popularity has only grown while in government instituting policies such as the Wiltshire Flag Referendums and the Green Society Act.
