Renly Stork is a former Wiltshirian politician who served as the 5th Prime Minister of Wiltshire between March and May in 3013 following the downfall of Prime Minister Edward Jellico and before the victory of Martin Banks' Conservative Party (Wiltshire) in the May 3013 Election. Stork was the leader of the Socialist Party which called a motion of no confidence in Prime Minister Jellico's government. This was following Jellico's failure to win a majority of seats in the January 3013 Election. That election put the Socialists within an arms reach of government and they took the opportunity of a weakened Jellico to make their move.
Their move was successful and Stork was able to win the majority (with the help of some Liberal AMs) in the Assembly without a General Election. Stork established a government and attempted to "finish the work of Thomas Shore". However, the Conservatives were not going to give up that easily. The Conservatives had won the most seats and the most votes in the last election and in their mind, they were the democratically elected government. Jellico resigned and his deputy Martin Banks succeeded him as Conservative Leader. Banks was furiocious. He travelled the country, calling out Stork's hypocricy on democracy. Banks became the most famous opposition leader in history and when the time came for the next election in May, Banks was in a prime position to bring down the "phony" government. Stork continued on as Socialist Leader and attempted to re-gain power. However, it wasn't meant to be. He was unable to win back the country and remains the most unimportant leader in Wiltshire's history and is seen as a doorstop for the famous ministries of Jellico and Banks.
Stork is still active in politics today, however, and was one of those who left the Socialist Party to join the Labour Party under Rita Smith. Although, he has made it absolutely clear he would not serve as a politician again.
