Prince Brandon Martell (born 23 November 2979) is a Rockfield royal family member and head of the House Martell. Brandon is the grandson of King Philip III and the heir to the dukedom of New Barcelona. By the decree of Queen Isabel, who proclaimed that the grandchildren of monarchs will hold the style "Prince", Brandon is known as Prince Brandon. He is the eldest nephew of King Charles VI.
Born as Prince Brandon Caliban in 2979, Brandon lived most of his life during the interregnum. As the heir of the Dukedom of New Barcelona, Brandon held significant responsibility for the succession and future of the Caliban line - especially due to the fact that Charles VI only produced female descendants. In 2999, Brandon's father, Prince Anthony (Duke of New Barcelona) declared his reformation of the House of Martell, abandoning the former royal name of Caliban. Many have reported this to be as a result of a disagreement between Charles IV and Prince Antony. The result being a splitting in the houses. Since coming of age, Brandon has spent many of his years away from Rockfield. He travelled much of the world, becoming known as the "Prince who Danced the World". In 3021, when Charles VI re-ascended to the throne, Brandon returned to Rockfield to resume his role as the functionary head of the House Martell. Since, Brandon has been a constant force at the court of Charles, often sparring with the King's Council.
A large part of Brandon's life is his role within the Pontifical Church. Brandon served as a devout priest at a Pontifical monastery in Doggerland, before returning to Rockfield.
