Charles IV (19 October 2752 - 13 January 2805) was the shortest serving King of Rockfield and Newton, reigning only five months between August 2804 and January 2805. His reign is often only remarked upon due to its affect on the life of Elisa Pius, who would eventually become Queen due, in part, to trauma received during Charles VI's reign.

Born during the reign of his grandfather, Philip II, Charles Cameron Martell was considered highly likely to take the throne. His father, Antony Edmund, was only the second son of King Philip II. However, due to his uncle's (the heir apparent) commitment to celibacy and the life of the Pontifical Church, most expected the crown to pass through Antony Edmund and eventually onto Charles. His grandfather reigned for 45 years, becoming the longest serving monarch in Rockfield's history, meaning his father was already of an advanced age when he ascended to the throne as King Antony Edmund I.

Charles was decorated Duke of Talaga, as the heir apparent. However, after Antony Edmund's short 3-year reign, Charles ascended to the throne. The single controversy of his reign was his marriage to the six-year old Elisa Pius. As the only daughter of the House of Pius, Charles IV was insistent on securing a dynastic alliance with the House of Pius due to their financial power - power that Charles VI believed would be crucial in restoring Rockfield to her previous height. The marriage was shunned by many and, with his shocking death only four months after the wedding, Elisa Pius became the youngest ever Dowager Queen in history at only 6 years old.

The circumstances around Charles VI's death are mostly unknown to historians. Charles IV was succeeded by his younger brother, Maximilian.
