Martin "Brian" Turner (born 20 January 2952) is a Wiltshirian politician and media personality who was elected to the Wiltshire National Assembly in the June 3020 Wiltshire Legislative Elections. Following his election, Turner was appointed Shadow Minister for Culture, being quickly promoted to serve as Shadow Home Minister under Leader Sonya Inyo.
Early Life and Media career
Turner was born in New Toronto, North America, in 2952 during the "years of discontent". Turner's father, Pierre Turner, was an actor and media personality in the North American News Company and encouraged Brian to pursue a career in the media. Despite Turner Sr's insistence that "politics is a sin", Turner was rather infatuated with political journalism and commentary. He continued to live in New Toronto, eventually joining the NANC in 2977. Turner continued to work there, eventually transferring to CNN to work for 'Good Morning, New Toronto'.
Turner came out as a supporter of the reformation of the United Federation of Planets, suggesting that the UFP "is the best path to Terran progress". He was a supporter of President Anneik Okeg and Jaresh Inyo. Turner continued to live in New Toronto throughout the Federation/C.E. and following the dissolution of the Federation. Eventually, Turner moved to Wiltshire to host his own show, the Turner Report, on CENN. Turner was tapped to host the new show due to his quickly growing profile as the "most honest man in media" throughout the 3000s.
The Turner Report ran between 3011 and 3020, concluding after 9 years due to Turner's bid to be elected to the Wiltshire National Assembly. The Turner Report was initially run by CENN, eventually moving to the WBC, during the era of the New Corporate Republic. During the NCR's occupation of Wiltshire, Turner did not run shows, instead returning to New Toronto for the two month period. He returned to Wiltshire in February 3020 and continued his show on the WBC.
