The City of Washington, or as it is more commonly known, Washington E.R, is a constituent city and devolved region within the Wiltshire Republic.

The city was founded to serve as the capital city of the Terran Federation, and many Federation Presidents served from Washington E.R. However, following the C.E/Federation war and the collapse of the Federation, the city became independent. However, the city later joined the Wiltshire Federal Republic to become it's fourth constituent city. First Minister Toby Wallis became the first Mayor of Washington. As a result of the Novanite Membership referendum in Wiltshire, the city became part of the Novanite Federation.

It was soon inducted as the capital city of the nation. It was then classified as a 'federal province', meaning the Novanite federal government held jurisdiction over the city.

Following the September Mutiny, Washington succeeded from the Novanite Federation, along with Wiltshire and Minevgrad, forming the Third Wiltshire Republic. This continued until the New Corporate Republic's invasion of Wiltshire. Due to its geographical separation, Washington was not conquered and became an independent city. However, once Gaius Selan formed his Government-in-Exile, Washington joined. Following Wiltshirian Independence in January 3020, Washington joined in union with Wiltshire once again, forming the Fourth Republic.
