John Leroy Wilson (ne: Westbrooke; born 21 July, 2971), often called Jack Wilson, is a Wiltshirian businessman, philanthropist and politician who is currently serving as Chancellor of the Exchequer and as a Liberal Conservative Member of the Wiltshire National Assembly. Wilson was elected to the National Assembly in February 3020 and previously served on the Government's Council of Economic Advisors under previous Conservative Prime Ministers Edward Jellico, Martin Banks, David Loynd and Audrick Hill. Prior to entering national politics, Wilson acted as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Westbrooke Inc., the largest Wiltshirian corporation. Wilson is the youngest son of billionaire tycoon, and Westbrooke founder and CEO, Ted P. Westbrooke.
Early life
Born on 21 July 2971 as John Leroy Westbrooke, Wilson was the youngest son of Ted P. Westbrooke and Maryanne Wilson. Westbrooke was a leading member of the Sky-Atlantic Corporation. While he was successful in his life, Westbrooke did not come to prominence until the collapse of Sky-Atlantic when he founded his own telecommunications corporation in 2983. This original company, named Atlantic Communications and Media Corporation, became the second largest telecommunications corporation in Federation-North America between 2985 and 2994. During this period, Westbrooke's sons, Edward Jr and John, worked within senior management of the company. Jack became the youngest ever CFO of a major telecommunications corporation in history at the age of 21.
In 2996, Wilson's parents divorced. Following family disputes, Jack decided to take his mother's maiden name and resigned as CFO of the newly renamed Westbrooke Inc.
Post-CFO career
Following his tenure as CFO (2992-2996), Wilson returned to full-time education. During this period, he studied for a Masters Degree in Corporate Economics and Relations. Following this, Wilson started to work at a number of different corporations in the early 3000s, including Chisel Enterprises and Agency Industries. Eventually, Wilson returned to Westbrooke Inc. and resumed his tenure as CFO. It is believed that Wilson and his father reconciled during this period, following the death of his brother, Edward Jr. During this period, Wilson met and married Michael Porter.
In 3009, the entire corporation moved to the newly founded state of Wiltshire. Over the period 3009-3018, Westbrooke became the largest corporation in Wiltshire, becoming the main provider of internet and satellite communications. Wilson's father remained CEO, and he himself remained as CFO. Wilson's father became the richest man in Wiltshire, cumulating an estimated 32.4 billion corporate marks. Wilson himself is believed to hold a net worth of over 2 billion.
Following Wiltshire's independence from the New Corporate Republic, Wilson and his father saw an opportunity to steer the newly reformed Wiltshirian state into a more corporate friendly direction. With Westbrooke remaining CEO, Wilson was to run for political office under the new Liberal Conservative Party. He was elected to the Wiltshire National Assembly in February 3020 and in July 3020, he was appointed Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, and later Chancellor under Sonya Inyo in the Sonya Inyo Ministry.
