The party was made mostly of former members of the Wiltshire Liberal Alliance Party, which was dissolved in June 3019 to form the National Party, along with [[Wiltshire First]] and the Green Party. The National Party held government under the leadership of [[Fillmore Grey]] and then [[Jim Balfour]]. However, following the [[September Mutiny]] and the economic depression, Bernard Canterbury took over leadership of the National Party, causing the Liberals to break away.Β  Β

The Wiltshire Liberal Party, or as it has become commonly known, the 3019 Liberal Party, was a breakaway faction of the National government of Jim Balfour during the Autumn of Discontent and Hurricane Sarina. Led by former Deputy Prime Minister Lucy Hobbs, the Wiltshire Liberal Party was a "governing force", with the hope of taking back control of government from Wiltshire First.

The 3019 Liberal Party had limited success and was eventually merged with the Audrick Hill-led factions of the Conservative Party to form the Liberal Conservative Party in early 3020.
