The City of Minevgrad is the smallest constituent city and devolved region within the Wiltshire Republic. The city was originally a region of the Almere Socialist Republic, and then later the Eastern Federal Republic, before being sold to the Novanite Federation in 3019. The city became the 6th Province of the Novanite Federation, and due to its close proximity to it, became economically dependent on Wiltshire. During the September Mutiny, Wiltshire declared independence from the Novanite Federation and the day following the Battle of Utopia Planitia, Minevgrad also declared independence and joined the Wiltshirian forces. Though small, Minevgrad helped support Wiltshire to a number of decisive battles.

When Wiltshire formalized its constitution under the Third Wiltshire Republic, Minevgrad was a "devolved administrative region". The city was also annexed by the New Corporate Republic during their 3019/20 occupation of Wiltshire, also joining Wiltshire in gaining independence from the NCR in January 3020. Today, Minevgrad is a "devolved city" within the Fourth Wiltshire Republic, with an elected Mayor.

Local government

The Local Government in Minevgrad is led by the Mayor of Minevgrad, who serves as the executive head of the local government and the representative of the Minevgrad City Council to the National Government. The current Mayor is Catherine Morgan, who was elected Mayor in February 3020 when the Wiltshire Labour Party took majority control of the City Council.

The City Council, and local government in general, has authority over "devolved matters", including infrastructure, execution of national policies in a local level, health, education, environmental issues and several more. The current Council is majority controlled by the Labour Party.
