The City of Washington is a constituent city and devolved region within the Wiltshire Republic. The city is the only region of Wiltshire to be an exclave of the main territory.
The city was founded to serve as the capital city of the Terran Federation, and many Federation Presidents served from Washington. However, following the C.E/Federation war and the collapse of the Federation, the city became independent. However, the city later joined the Wiltshire Federal Republic to become it's fourth constituent city. First Minister Toby Wallis became the first Mayor of Washington. As a result of the Novanite Membership referendum in Wiltshire, the city became part of the Novanite Federation.
