Vasla is a Tauran district of Arstotzka (Arztötzlande), and is the home of the Vasla Liberation Front, a militia group currently fighting New Corporate Republic rule. It was formerly part of the Eastern Federal Republic, but fell into NCR hands as a result of the EFR-NCR war. It was formerly the largest Tauran ethnic exclave outside of any Tauran nation prior to its evacuation due to conflicts.
History
Arrival
Dalkaisk arrived in Arstotzka around a year after the Taurans arrived on Terra. Because of the significant population in the district, many Overseas Taurans soon decided to move to the area, further increasing its population. In addition, many Dalkaisk began moving to the area in seek of a better life in the EFR.
Evacuation
Soon after the EFR-NCR broke out, a significant portion of Taurans left Vasla as a result of the extreme Anti-Tauran sentiments of the NCR. Evacuations by the IDO in the region became more significant as NCR forces gained an upper hand in the conflict. Most of the district were evacuated due to humanitarian concerns, but a small amount of the population decided to stay behind.
Rebel Activity
With the NCR's presence in Arstotzka (now renamed Arztötzlande), underground Vaslan militias actively fought advancing NCR forces, and burdened their advance. combining into the Vaslan Liberation Front, they exchanged fire with the divisions within the city. The front opted to scorch the remaining parts of the city, and retreat to an underground resistance group.
