Sebastian "Seb" Bashira (born 26 September 2974) is a Wiltshirian political activist and politician. Bashira is a candidate for President of Wiltshire in the 3021 Wiltshire Presidential Election and the former leader of the short-lived Democratic Party of Wiltshire. Bashira, a prominent liberal activist, campaigned against the New Corporate Republic occupation of Wiltshire and for environmental issues. During the occupation, Bashira was arrested twice. He became essential to the organization of the General Strike, a crucial component in securing Wiltshirian independence from the NCR.
Prior to the NCR occupation, Bashira was a political candidate for the Middle Democratic Party, and campaigned for the creation of the Novanite Federation and against independence in the Wiltshire Independence Referendum. He also sought election to the Wiltshire National Assembly, failing three times (April, June, and September 3019).
Following Wiltshirian independence, Bashira helped form the Democratic Party. From this limited platform, he announced his candidacy for President, becoming the first candidate in the 3021 race. While he easily secured the Democratic party's nomination, the party quickly fell into irrelevancy. On 29 August 3020, Bashira announced his resignation as leader and the dissolution of the party. He simultaneously announced plans for talks between "liberal allies across the country" to form a new liberal political party.
