Royal Jubilee

From TCH Archive

A royal jubilee is a celebration of the reign of a monarch of the Kingdom of the Rock. The tradition started in 2686 upon the 25th anniversary of the ascension of King Charles I in 2661. Charles I, the brother of Philip the Great, had reigned following the heirless death of Alfonso I. The tradition continued, with a total of eight jubilees taking place throughout Rockfield's history. The most recent jubilee was the Silver Jubilee of Philip II in 2966.

Jubilees are national celebrations and almost always include national holidays. The most common form of jubilee is a "silver" jubilee, which celebrates a monarch's 25th year on the throne. In two cases (Philip II and Charles V), there has been a "ruby" jubilee to celebrate a 40 year reign.
