North Bonitana Company

From TCH Archive

The North Bonitaña Corporation (NBC) is a Balancín joint-stock company, founded in 3024 by royal charter, to facilitate trade, mining, and merchant activity through the territory of Northern Bonitaña. Despite being formed by royal charter, with the consent of the Balancín Parliament, the North Bonitaña Corporation is privately run and operated. A majority stake in the corporation is held by the Balancín Crown, which often leads to it being referred to as the Balancín North Bonitaña Corporation (BNBC). The corporation's activities are, despite the interest of the Balancín Crown, independent of the foreign policy of the Balancín Kingdoms and the Balancín Parliament has no legal authority over its operations.

Governance and structure

The corporation's board of shareholders is made up of 10 trustees. The trustees are responsible for the election of two officers: the Chief Executive and the Chief Operator (CE and CO). The two officers have differing but equal responsibility for the governance of the corporation and are both liable to the board of trustees. Six of the ten trustees are named by the Balancín Crown.
