Benjamin Mamut (born April 21, 2954) is the Speaker of the Novanite Parliament and leader of the Green Party in the Novanite Parliament. Mamut began his political career being elected Mayor of Lucia, Novenae. He quickly rose the ranks and following the formation of the Novanite Federation (at the time the NNF) he became an MNP. Mamut's role in the Novanite Parliament was insignificant until the election of Franklin Morris as President of the Novanite Federation. Morris is a close friend of Mamut and following his election, Morris recommended Mamut for Speaker of the Parliament.
Mamut's was easily elected with the power of Morris' power following his election and has since been instrumental in the passing of numerous laws. However, Mamut and Morris had a significant disagreement with the Immigration Security Act. Mamut was a vocal supporter of the legislation and pushed it through Parliament. Many have commented on the difference between Morris and Mamut on the issue and the two haven't been seen in public together since the incident.
