The Ardanu Class, now formally known as the Ardanu- MRV-3A, is an Oscdean battlecruiser redesigned from the formal Poradus Class battlecruiser prototype. Its later further developments was overseen by Nylis Tuus Moradeshi herself, but the overall design and construction process was lead by Hutarni Construct lead researcher Kelaru Vequ Radeaul. It is the main warship of the space-faring Oscdean State, and while it carries a variety of armament for conflicts, it also serves as an efficient exploration platform for planetary surveys and discoveries.
History
While the Poradus ship prototype was able to meet strict requirements of a multi-platform warship, the end result produced a costly and fuel-inefficient mess, not to mention that the Poradus was extremely instable in atmospheric environments due to lack of powerful thrust engines which were swapped out to favor additional Hyperion cannon platforms. In the end the Poradus was redesigned into the modern day Ardanu Class, which was eventually overseen by Grand Panturion Moradeshi and her philosophy of combat equilibrium.
The Ardanu MRV-1A would be the first iteration to enter Oscdean military service, followed by the MRV-2A with a Kaelo Paradox 2nd rift engine, reinforced atmospheric engines, and cyclops proximity defense arament. The most recent iteration is the MRV-3A, which saw the installment of twin kinetic accelerator cannons, and a larger hangar bay to accommodate more aircraft and terrain vehicles.
Specifications
Structure & Hull
The Ardanu's Warcruiser features a tight, heavy, and rigid frame, giving its bulky and stout appearance that allows a variety of integration into its hull and interior compartments. Beneath its mostly flat caorcism made hull features a rib-like exoskeleton armor located in between the space between the exterior armor panels from the interior of the ship, and acts as the main armor of the ship, allowing the warcruiser absorb and endure long term beatings during combat.
Features such as a main aircraft hangar bay located in the center of the ship, as well as two stock bays carrying two Niraganta Class Corvettes. Additionally the Ardanu was designed to easily land on a planets surface provided there is an adequate amount of flat surfaces. This allows access to its rear hangar land bay, which stores ground arsenal such as tanks and land expedition vehicles, temporarily making the ship into a base during operations.
Armaments
The main armament of the Ardanu is a single magnetic accelerator cannon located at its bow, used for ship to ship combat. Further heavy weaponry feature twin OSCO Hyperion Ion cannons, as well as 6 NKT 450mm kinetic breach cannons, which are accommodated by lighter secondary weaponry such as the the NAR-2 rotary cannons for close quarter and anti-air engagements.
