A common sight above occupied NCR territories, the Walpurgisnacht-Class Kruiser is a large zeppelin used both in battle and for city administration and subjugation. Primarily a missile cruiser, it contains rows and rows of Ballistic missile silos on the underside of its gondola and its main body, as well as bomb bays. Heavily armed with an emphasis on complete destruction, it is just as much of a terrifying sight on the battlefield as it is over a city, looming over terrified souls below.
Military Use
The Walpurgisnacht-Class Kruiser has dozens of missile silos situated on the underside of the craft. Therefore, this craft is suitable in large fleet-based battles, rather than pursuit-oriented skirmishes, like the smaller and faster Predator-Class. The Walpurgisnacht's heavy armor also allows it to take quite a beating and continue fighting. Like most C.E. craft, it is adept at providing heavy ground support, firing its ballistic missiles and incinerating enemy armies. It is also an effective bomber, squadrons of Walpurgisnachts being used to bomb enemy cities into oblivion. In addition to their bomb bays, they are also one of the only NCR Airship classes equipped with super lasers. The main excavation beam is used for "glassing" cities, a process in which multiple airships fire lasers on a city over a period of hours or days, destroying everything and making the surface completely inhospitable. The name comes from the glassy surface that results when soil is superheated by the laser rays. The craft also has one energy lance, which can be used for either glassing or firing at enemy ships. It is most effective against targets who's shields have expired, ripping and melting through armor to deal the killing blow.
Occupation Use
The Walpurgisnacht is special in that it is both adept at frontline military use and for administrative and occupation purposes behind the lines, in territories occupied by the NCR and undergoing forced integration. These "Unterwerfenwalpurgisnacht's" (literally: Subjugator Walpurgisnacht's) serve as mobile command centers and offices for high-ranking NCR government officials. They are outfitted with luxurious wood paneling, gold inlays, and rooms such as dance clubs and bars for the enjoyment of the NCR's government and military elite. However, they do not lose their military function and prowess in these roles. These administrative ships are just as deadly and heavily armed as their frontline counterparts, and are ready to defend the cities they fly over. They also serve as surveillance zeppelins, prisons for political enemies of the government, and in some cases, will put down mass revolts if they occur.
