More actions
A type of CE supplementary unit, Untersoldaten are captured Oscdean Prisoners of War that are placed under complete control by way of computer systems being grafted into their brain. Horrifying combinations of alien and machine, these soldiers vary in their cognitive ability, with some acting as feral packs of dogs, and some acting as intelligent impostors meant to infiltrate and fire upon what used to be their brethren.
Conversion
During the prisoner handoff at the end of the Morsehead Conflagration, Oscdean officials noticed proficient gaps in the return of amounts of prisoners deemed missing. Several thousand were unaccounted for, with C.E. giving no clear answer as to their wheareabouts. Unbeknownst to the world, C.E. had been taking large amounts of prisoners and forcibly converting them at the island prison off the coast of Zaandam. The selection appears to have been largely random, with the conversion process being incredibly painful. In the conversion, computer systems are directly grafted to the brain of the individual, overloading it and sending powerful signals, overriding the functions of the individual.
Capabilities
There are largely two types of Untersoldaten. The first, pictured above, only has a small amount of grafting visible on the face. However, due to the lack of machinery, the signals overriding the brain must be extremely simple - these Untersoldaten are effectively feral animals, loyal only to C.E. soldiers. They cannot speak or use complex weapons such as firearms. Thusly, they rip apart anything they come into contact with when deployed aside from C.E. troops. These units are deployed in packs, and the fear and shock that comes with a pack often causes enemy soldiers to flee.
The second type has a far larger amount of complex machinery attached to their head, making them look more robot-like than Tauran. These soldiers are also unable to speak, however, they communicate with their squad silently via the use of electronic signals imperceptible to others. They follow the orders of C.E. units unquestioningly. They can use weapons, and can think critically and logically, however, they are far more similar to combat robots than to the individuals they once were. They hold no feeling, and no memory of their former self. These units are often used to create discord within the frontlines of Oscdean troops, attacking in Oscdean uniform and turning them on themselves. Due to the large amount of mechanical attachments on their head, they often wear hoods to mask their true identity for as long as possible when attacking Oscdean troops.
