Rosarita Augustus Smith, or more commonly known as Rita Smith, born December 1, 2980, is a Wiltshirian politician who is currently serving as Wiltshire's 2nd Director. Smith came to power following the April 3019 Wiltshire Legislative Elections where the Labour Party defeated incumbent Conservative Party (Wiltshire) Director Samantha Schrӧder. Smith's Labour Party was short of a majority in the Wiltshire Provincial Assembly and so formed a coalition with the Socialist Party (who the Labour Party had broken away from).

Smith's political career started big, being elected AM in November 3018 Wiltshire General Election. Smith quickly rose the ranks and was appointed National Chairwoman of the Socialist Party. This put her in a prime position, besides her lack of political experience, to run for leader when Frank Eddington resigned. She was easily elected leader and went on an aggressive campaign against Audrick Hill's new Conservative Government. However, she was unable to defeat Hill when, in the January 3019 Wiltshire General Election she was defeated in a landslide. She was forced out as leader of the Socialist Party, being replaced by Harry Melbourne.

However, she still obtained ambition to lead Wiltshire. She would later break away from the Socialist Party to create the Labour Party, which would go onto fight and win the next elections in April. This was the first time a non-major political party led a government in Wiltshire's history.
