The Novenae Defense Force (NDF) is the military arm of the city-state of Novenae, tasked with defending the city and its' people. It is divided into the Ground, Aerospace, Naval, and Home divisions, with the Prime Minister serving as the Commander-in-chief.
Various terrorist attacks and riots in Novenae have prompted the government to sink over CM250 million into its military expenditure. Due to its' small size, Novenae relies heavily on force multipliers especially in regards to military technology.
Organization
Director HR was given the task of assembling a military force from scratch. His main areas of interest were strong defense capabilities, military and civilian readiness for conflict, and a cohesive armed forces that could act almost as one unit.
Notable Units
Novenae Ground Division - Composed mainly of footsoldiers, artillery, and specialist units. Over 70% of Novenae's land is highly urbanized, as such their training is mainly focused on close-quarters urban combat.
Gurkha Contingent - Historically Gurkha units in the military consist of immigrant Nepalese men serving a foreign military, though the Gurkha Contingent of the NDF also accepts Novenae-born soldiers who pass the training program.
Training takes place in an undisclosed area in South Asia, overseen by personnel from Novenae. The program is a mix of intense physical conditioning as well as combat training in a variety of situations, including hostage rescue, counterterrorism, and amphibious assault. It is estimated a Gurkha will have memorized 40 different ways to kill a man by the end of their training, assuming they haven't dropped out.
Graduates are shipped back to Novenae and can be picked for tasks from guarding VIPs to undergoing clandestine missions on the order of the Director.
