Will company

Overview

    • WillCo** (short for **Will Company**) is a military faction-turned-nation formed after the collapse of the **Republic of Wilford** on the planet **Ytharia**. Originally designed as a defensive company under Wilford’s military, it was tasked with safeguarding **Project Exodus**, the Republic’s final hope for survival against the invading **Taurus** forces.

With the destruction of Wilford, **WillCo** assumed control over the surviving fleet, evolving into a fully mobile military state. Balancing internal power struggles, experimental technology, and constant external threats, WillCo now serves as both a military government and the last refuge for Alf survivors.

History

Formation

Founded as the newest military company within Wilford’s armed forces, WillCo was initially considered secondary to the more established **Hope Company** and **Power Company**. However, its role grew in importance as **Project Exodus** progressed, entrusting WillCo with the protection of experimental scientific assets under **EndTK**.

Fall of Wilford

During the **Taurus Invasion**, the Republic of Wilford collapsed under overwhelming assault. **Hope Company** was destroyed during the glassing of the **White Diamond Federation** capital, and **Power Company** scattered. With few options left, the remnants of Wilford’s government transferred authority to **WillCo**, making it the de facto leadership of the Alf refugee fleet.

Exodus and Survival

Following the exodus from Ytharia, **WillCo** transitioned into a **fleet-based nation**, roaming deep space in search of sanctuary while pursued by the relentless **Taurus**, now referred to as **The Pursuers**. Over time, WillCo adopted a pragmatic doctrine of survival at all costs, known internally as **The Many Over the Few**, prioritizing the survival of the fleet even at the expense of individuals or smaller crews.

Current Status

As of now, **WillCo** exists as a fragmented yet functional military government, led by a **Director** and a **Council of Ship Captains**, constantly balancing survival, diplomacy, and technological scavenging.

Government and Leadership

The Director

The highest authority within WillCo, the **Director** holds nearly absolute power during wartime or crises. Though originally appointed by Wilford’s government, the position has since evolved into a role that blends military, political, and diplomatic responsibilities.

Council of Captains

A select group of **senior ship captains**, representing WillCo’s largest and most influential vessels, who serve as the Director’s primary advisors. They hold limited veto power and can challenge key decisions if unanimous.

Red Rose Family

A politically entrenched family, originally from the **White Diamond Federation**, who used their wealth and influence to marry into WillCo’s upper ranks. The **Red Roses** now hold considerable sway over resource allocation, civilian affairs, and internal trade.

EndTK Scientific Division

An autonomous scientific body responsible for **Project Exodus** research and the ongoing development of hybrid technologies. While subordinate to WillCo leadership, **EndTK** enjoys broad freedom in technological experimentation.

Military Structure

Fleet Composition

The WillCo fleet is composed of a diverse array of vessels, ranging from capital ships to scavenged transports.

  • **The Titan** - WillCo’s command ship and de facto capital.
  • **Void Destroyers** - Heavy combat vessels focused on long-range fire support.
  • **Arc Gunships** - Agile gunships suited for escort and planetary raids.
  • **Drone Carriers** - Carriers equipped to deploy the **X-06** and **X-07** drone series.

Vulture Division

A specialized recovery and infiltration division tasked with retrieving alien technology from hostile or abandoned sites. Known for their ruthless efficiency and willingness to push into high-risk zones.

TSF Ground Teams

    • Tactical Special Forces** trained for planetary operations, ship boarding actions, and emergency defense.

Politics and Internal Tensions

The Many Over the Few

A controversial doctrine born from WillCo’s early survival struggles, it emphasizes prioritizing the survival of the majority, even at the direct expense of individuals or isolated crews. This philosophy is deeply ingrained into WillCo’s leadership culture.

Director vs. Red Rose Family

The **Director** and the **Red Rose Family** share an uneasy alliance. While the Director controls military strategy, the Red Roses control significant portions of the fleet’s trade, resource distribution, and civilian morale.

Technological Dependency

WillCo’s survival depends heavily on hybrid technology — blending Alf, Wilford, and stolen Pursuer systems. This dependence on untested tech creates tensions between **EndTK**, the military, and the civilian population.

Technology

Hybrid Systems

WillCo’s ships, weapons, and infrastructure are cobbled together from Alf technology, stolen Pursuer systems, and salvaged alien components.

Experimental Hypercore

The backbone of WillCo’s faster-than-light travel, derived from stolen Pursuer blueprints. Unbeknownst to WillCo, the **hypercore emits a trace signal**, allowing the Pursuers to track the fleet.

Advanced Drones

WillCo’s **X-06B** and **X-07** drones serve as its primary force multipliers, capable of both reconnaissance and direct combat in space and planetary environments.

Enemies

The Pursuers

A relentless force of genetically modified Taurus warriors, obsessed with the capture or destruction of WillCo. They hunt the fleet across the galaxy.

Rogue Alf Factions

Splinter groups of Alf survivors who view WillCo as either a threat or a rival, often contesting scarce resources.

Northeast Industries (NEI)

A human faction with advanced military assets. NEI views WillCo as a potential biohazard threat due to unverified alien infections among the fleet, leading to hostile encounters.

Culture and Identity

Survivor Mentality

Every member of WillCo, from civilian engineers to frontline soldiers, shares a hardened, survival-first mindset, forged through years of near-constant flight and battle.

Military Traditions

WillCo retains elements of old Wilford military ceremonies, blending them with new rites honoring fallen ships and lost crewmates.

Technological Reverence

With technology serving as both savior and curse, many within WillCo have developed a reverence for innovation, seeing technology as both salvation and potential damnation.

Key Figures

The Director

The current Director, a battle-hardened leader shaped by the fall of Wilford and the endless retreat from the Pursuers.

Commander Eris

A senior officer aboard **The Titan**, responsible for coordinating planetary operations, diplomacy, and internal security.

The Red Rose Matriarch

The shadowy head of the **Red Rose Family**, controlling the family’s political and economic power within the fleet.
