The Balancín Cortes Generales (English: General Courts) is the unicameral legislature of Rockfield. It was first established as the Asentamiento Cortes Generales (Settlement General Courts) as the decision making body for the settlement of Rockfield, eventually being adopted into the legislative Cortes Generales.
Cortes Generales is comprised of elected deputies from the 324 departments of Rockfield (electoral districts). Legislative elections occur every year to elect members of those departments. Currently, Partido Socialista (PS) holds a supermajority of seats, dominating the Cortes Generales.
Composition and powers
The Cortes Generales is the legislative center of Rockfield and holds complete legislative authority. While El Presidente de la Roca does not constitutionally get a veto, his position as General Secretary of PS means that the executive still has a large influence over the Cortes Generales. Emergency sessions can be called by El Presidente.
