The capital and largest city of the Pontifical States, situated on the northern shore of the Northern Doggerland Shipping Basin. It has a population estimated around nine hundred thousand. The history, population, geography, and politics of Ekklesiovsk are largely synonymous with those of the Pontifical States at large, the capital making up for over ninety percent of the nations people and territory and having no local government. It is known primarily for being the seat of the Pontifex and the Pontifical Church, leading the Pontifical States politically and the wider world spiritually.
Ekklesiovsk was the second settlement founded in the Arkhangelsk-Doggerland Migration of Russian peoples moving to the Doggerland, after St. George. Lack of area on St. George led to the establishment of the Konstantin Kremlin and surrounding Ekklesiovsk, with the Church soon making the city its new permanent seat where it has remained since.
The city possesses a higher than average industrial diversity, largely supporting maritime trade, industrial manufacturing, tourism, and as of 3025 is home to the Holy Roman Empire (HRE) financial marketplace, the Imperial Stock Exchange.
The city is recognized for its historically recreated Russian architecture, displayed among the various churches and kremlins. Of special significance are the Pontifical Palace, Konstantine Kremlin, St. George Kremlin, and Archbasilica of Christ the Saviour.
