Richard Davis Wright III (Russian: ะ ะธัะฐัะด ะัะฒะธั ะ ะฐะนั, Ukrainian: ะ ััะฐัะด ะะตะฒัั ะ ะฐะนั) sometimes called "Ivan" was the former Progenitor of BlackCon Labs Corporation.
Richard is the son of Nikolai Wright, a cardiothoracic surgeon famous for performing emergency surgery on Robbert Teck, saving his life. Richard was born in Kiev, Ukraine to Nikolai and an unknown Martian woman who left early in his childhood. Wright's career as a businessman was marked by severe turbulence. He was known for his short temper and impulsivity. However, Wright was able to rise to the rank of Progenitor in BlackCon Labs Corporation until he was removed due to disagreements with the company's board of directors.
Shortly afterwards, Wright separated himself from the corporate community entirely. He took up residence in Novenae, where he was tortured by hallucinations where his deceased father tried to warn him of an imminent apocalypse. These hallucinations turned out to be real, as his father's life was sustained by the Timelord Council. In The Leader of Souls, Wright crashed his car in an attempt to escape the visions. His car crashed into HR's vehicle, causing HR to become Nikolai's vessel.
