The Norus Class frigates were introduced near the end of 2019 by the Vindictus Ove as a mean to replace the outdated Unata Class destroyers.
The Norus was designed as a mean to take up multiple role, from territorial patrol and exploration, interceptor, and front line combat.
Development
The Norus Class ships are part of a new directive of the Vindictus Ove to integrate the bridge within the ship hull, providing a sleek concealed environment and increase crew survivability during combat.
The development and construction of the Norus, lead to a large number of Unata Class frigates were being dismantled for scrap, as the ship failed to continue adapting to Terran naval strategies.
The Norus’s bulky design and large rift thrusters allows the ship to quickly navigate through low planet atmospheres and provide high mobility, but sacrifices the defense capabilities of a Unata.
Combat
Bulk, Robust, and equipped with the latest innovations, the Norus class are fast interceptors designed to take on larger enemy warships with orbital maneuvers using its main kingbreaker cannons.
They are the most common type of ship within the Oscdean State and the ones that often patrol territories are regions.
