International Defense Organization

The International Defense Organization (I.D.O) is a military alliance comprising of countries and corporations, mostly in the Doggerland, dedicated to mutual defence and the promotion of peace across the continent. The IDO was originally formed as the S.A.T.O alliance, led by Bonitana, to participate in the October Conflict, a conflict between S.A.T.O and the Almere Socialist Republic. S.A.T.O was victorious in that conflict, cementing its influence over the Doggerland. However, in January 3019, the Almere Socialist Republic and Bonitana united to form the Eastern Federal Republic.

This move caused a major shift for those in the alliance. Bonitana's position in the alliance was no longer tenable and, because of their dominating influence over the alliance, the alliance had to respond with a major re-brand. This involved changing the name from S.A.T.O to the I.D.O (as we know today) and the Oscdean State taking over responsibility for the leadership of the alliance.

The IDO has been a major player in the geo-politics of 3019. During most of that year, the Novanite Federation and the Oscdean State were the two largest and major factions within the alliance. However, with the collapse of the Novanite Federation and the rise of the New Corporate Republic, the alliance has become primarily an alliance between Tauran countries and corporations - leaving many to speculate of Terran's influence over the direction of the alliance.
