Doggerland (also referred to as The Doggerlands) is a large artificial landmass in the North Sea, west of Jutland and east of the British Isles. Originally a landmass that was above sea level during the Ice Age, it was submerged with the rise of sea levels. However, it was raised out of the sea once again in 2240 as part of an effort by European nations to provide habitable land in a desperate attempt to escape rising sea levels.
