The Pontifical States 3021 Cabinet purge refers to the mass turnover of senior members of both the Cabinet of the Pontifical Church and Cabinet of the Pontifical States by Konstantin IX after assuming office in 3020. The firing of nearly all of the top level and many other officials in the executive departments, a highly atypical act in the Pontifical States where cabinet members usually serve extended terms regardless of a change in the pontificate, led directly to increased frustration with the Pontifex and a select number turning against him in the December Crises of the same year.
