The Writ of Farum Gefari and its modernization efforts in the Vindictus Ove allowed the navy to produce one of the most heavily armed warships in the State, the Poradus Class Battlecruiser. It is the second warship commissioned after the Morsehead Conflagration, and later remodeled to the modern day Ardanu Class battlecruiser.

Development

The Poradus Class were developed in response to the introduction of the NCR Albatross Class Kampf-Zeppelinkruiser, and was developed in secrecy on Phobos shortly after the Morsehead Conflagration. Throughout development, the ship was delayed and reworked numerous times due to strict design elements required by the Vindictus Ove. Lead by the legendary ship developer Omur Udani, Most of the Poradus design elements come from the Norus Class and the Octavia Class, adopting a sleek and industrial design while carrying an array of araments.

With the re-emergence of Taurus, the Porabus hangar bays were extended, sacrificing armament mounting points in favor of fitting not one, but two Nirganta Class ECJP corvettes in its secondary hanger bays, which are deployed as escorts or patrol ships.

Combat

While a battlecruiser, notable features of the Poradus are its side hangers, allowing multiple squads crafts ranging from fighters and bombers to heavy dropship and corvettes to deploy at a moment's notice. Underneath the ship are a pair of β€œmother bays”, which are two large hangers that allows quick deployment of piloted mechs, armored vehicles, and even IPMDS, which are center pieces of mobile command centers and FOBs.

Being a main warship within the Vindictus Ove and designed to fight enemy capital ships, the Porabus features 4 TRKwA capital ship boosters, fueling its heat composite shielding capabilities while outputting enough firepower on its own to take on small fleets. While heavily armed, the Porabus trades off mobility, rendering the ship to be very slow at times.
