The writing systems of Taurus refers to the current and historic practices of writing systems on the Tauran Planet. The various writing systems can be separated into multiple distinct branches, many of which developed separately. Among these are writing systems descended from Old Gaven, and the ones descended from the Detascir Alphabet.

Gavenic Scripts

The Gavenic scripts descend from Old Gaven, the writing system of Ancient Havenian Kingdoms. Modern Descendents in use include Gaven, High Gaven, and Ga-Nirob.

Gaven

The Gaven Script (also known as Low Gaven) is used for Havenian, Lvestarn, and Kayotan natively. It has also been adapted for the Yotellian and Havenian Genissisan (Genissisan is written in Srojka in Dalkaisk Genissis). It is a phonetic logography where each symbol represents a separate meaning and sound.

High-Gaven

The High-Gaven Script is a descendent of Old Gaven used in Blu'zian, Citadean, and Itretaran. The use of High-Gaven in Blu'zia and Citadea have been declining since the end of Lvestarn War in favor of Low Gaven as encouraged by Havenian Policy. It is also a phonetic logography where each symbol represents a separate meaning and sound.

Ga-Nirob

Ga-Nirob is a featural script influenced by Gavenic phonetic symbols. Nirob, being a Bullseyan language compared to the Ayvonian branch of Havenian and Lvestarn, would not fit the isolating structure of the Ayvonian languages (1 word per morpheme) due to its agglutinative structure (words being modified by affixes.) Gaven characters are also used to write the Nirobian language, with Gaven being used alongside Ga-Nirob to represent loan words from Ayvonian languages, which make up the majority of technical phrases.

Detasciric Scripts

The Detasciric Scripts descend from the Old Detascir Alphabet. As part of the expansion of the Detascir Empire, it brought writing to many languages of its empire, such as Gerbian, Ladka, Carelian, and Eden. The writing system then spread further through SMG colonization, bringing the writing system to Dalkaisk, Carthyan, Time'in, Wisperen, Tonabakh, and Atern. Modern descendents include Sroyka, Detaka, Ladka-Edenka.

Detaka

Detaka is the writing system used in the Detascir language, being the direct descendent of the Old Detascir alphabet.

Sroyka

Sroyka is the modern writing system originally present in Mongaulia and Sovokia, but eventually spread overseas due to SMG colonial expansion. Originally used in Gerbian, Sroyka has spread to being used in Dalkaisk, Carthyan, Time'in, Wisperen, Genissisan, and Tonabakh.

Ladka-Edenka

Ladka-Edenka is the writing system that originally developed in Eden and Lanadkia. With Ladka colonialism, Ladka-Edenka also spread to Atern and Cajan, core parts of the Ladka nation.
