Grand Moff Tarkin (November 1, 2159 - May 19, 2236, January 19, 2989 - December 15, 2993) was a Terran politician who served as the 13th and 34th President of the Terran United Federation of Planets. Tarkin was the only President to serve two non-consecutive terms in office.
Tarkin's rise to the Presidency began following the death of Vice President Connor Clarke. Clarke, who was elected alongside President Phillip Coulson, died in a HYDRA attack on Terra. Following this, President Coulson appointed Tarkin as Vice President. Tarkin was serving as a member of congress at the time. His tenure as Vice President was short, however, as President Coulson would resign from office. This started his first Presidency.
