A trade unionist and democratic socialist campaigner, Attlee was elected to the Wiltshire National Assembly in the 3024 Wiltshire general election. Following the gridlock of the government formation negotiations, Attlee presented a policy programme for a "new social contract", which quickly gained significant support when it was backed by the Greens.
