Ray Banes (born 1 December 2978) is a Wiltshirian author, politician and statesman who served as Leader of the Liberal Alliance and in a number of key ministerial positions within the Government of Wiltshire during his career in national politics. Banes was a member of the Wiltshire National Assembly between January 3016 until November 3019 and served as Leader of the Liberal Alliance between March 3017 until May 3019. During his tenure as Leader, he held the positions of Minister for Work and Pensions, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister for Transport and Paymaster General. Banes retired from politics in November 3019 following the depression and social unrest.
Since leaving politics, Banes has expressed support for the Liberal Party of Wiltshire and has written several books, including 'The Fight for a Political Soul' and 'Compromise: 3019 Wiltshire falls apart'.
