El Presidente de la Roca (English: The President of the Rock) is the executive head of state and head of government of Rockfield. El Presidente directs the executive branch of the Balancín government and is the commander-in-chief of the military forces of Rockfield. The role of El Presidente is traditionally held simultaneously with the role of General Secretary of the Partido Socialista (PS), the dominant ruling party in Rockfield.
The presidency is officially regarded as an institution of the state and the incumbent El Presidente is the most senior member, both politically and ceremonially, of the country. Since 3009, El Presidente has been elected by a direct popular vote, with the candidate of PS being the incumbent General Secretary. This has resulted in every El Presidente being from PS.
