The JetSword is a sword developed and manufactured by the Ecclesian company JetSword Technologies. The purpose of the JetSword is to allow for high-speed swinging maneuvers which are impossible with unaided human wielding capability.

Information

The JetSword was developed to enable skilled swordsmen in the Pontifical Guard and Ecclesian Military to go beyond their natural limits. It functions by releasing high-pressure gases within a cylindrical chamber in the sword itself out of a "tip-jet" at the tip of the sword. At the press of a button on the handle, the jet fires very briefly allowing the sword to be swung at great speeds. The boost of swing-speed when combined with the ability of a skilled swordsman allow the sword to obliterate organic matter, and when at the correct angle to penetrate metals less dense than the blade. The currently existing models of the JetSword only allow for 2-3 firings of the jet before the sword requires re-pressurization from an external tank.

Accidents

Serious reports of casualties have been filed with JetSword Technologies. These reports should be taken sincerely before purchasing a JetSword. The company acknowledges the swords are only to be used in the hands of highly-trained professionals. Some of these incidents include but are not limited to:

Over-pressurization of the internal chamber of the sword causing an explosion and releasing shrapnel.
Holding the thrust firing button too long and dislocating/detatching the arm.
Stabbing a hard surface with the sword and causing the tip-jet to explode.
Hitting a hard surface purpendicular while firing the jet and shattering the sword.
