The Dark Angels Army is the land-based branch of the Dark Angels military. As time progressed, the Dark Angels Army swiftly expanded, making use of highly trained soldiers, tanks, mechanized walkers, and overwhelming numbers. The Dark Angels Army works in tandem with the forces of the Dark Angels Navy, relying on the navy's fleets to transport legions of troops across distances. The most common soldiers of the Dark Angels' ground forces are known as Fire Warriors, the core infantry of the army tasked with establishing control and fighting on the front lines.

As the branch of the Dark Angels Military that deals with surface operations, the Dark Angels Army is composed of many sub-units and organizations and utilizes a vast array of vehicles to achieve its objectives.

Tactical Organization

The Dark Angels Army is split into two separate categories. These are regular forces and special forces. The regular forces handle straightforward combat missions and assaults. The special forces are highly independent commandos that had specific objectives and require very little help from the main army.

Trooper Ranks

• General—The highest rank a soldier could attain. They are in command of a corps.
• Legion Commander—They are in command of a legion.
• Regimental Commander—They are in command of a regiment.
• Battalion Commander—They are in command of a battalion.
• Major—They are in command of a company.
• Lieutenant—They are in command of a platoon.
• Sergeant—They are in command of a squad.
• Corporal—The second lowest rank of Angelian forces. They are second-in-command of squads.
• Trooper—The building block of the Dark Angels Army. There are different types of troops, but the most common one are the Fire Warriors.
• Cadet—This rank refers to troopers in-training. These have not passed their final test and therefore can not yet be considered official soldiers.
