Catain (Iorobrus) is the main language spoken by the Oscdean people, and the 3rd most spoken tongue among the Tauruan race, with some varieties of it found in Oscdean-Dalkiask communities and Oscdean-Terra communities.

After theΒ Oscdean States arrival onΒ Terra, many local natives began calling Iorobrus β€œCatain” due to how similar Iorobrus and Roman Vulgar Latin sounded.

Origins

Catain was once an ancient runic language known as Ponaba that was commonly spoken by the local population in the cold Middle Continents (modern day Alphinia) on Taurus, and was adopted by early retreating Alphian/Oscdean settlers sometime after the downfall of the AMA corporation.

As centuries passed and the newly founded Oscdean States grew, more and more Oscdeans favored Ponaba over common Tauruan tongues, thus leading the logistics of the language to evolve, eventually being called Iorobrus and being the main language of the new empire.

Writing System

Catain is a system of runic language, with characters often appearing geometric and connecting with other characters.
