Bernard Gill Canterbury (born October 2, 2964) is a Wiltshirian politician who is currently serving as Leader of Wiltshire Provincial Assembly in the National Party government led by Fillmore Grey. Canterbury is a member of the Wiltshire Provincial Assembly and is very strongly opposed to Wiltshire's membership of the Novanite Federation. Canterbury served in Audrick Hill's government in January 3019, however, lost his position following the Conservative Party (Wiltshire) victory in January 3019 Wiltshire General Election. Canterbury's pledge was to make Wiltshire First a strong political force in Wiltshire. Many fear Canterbury as he is described as a 'populist' and has higher polling numbers than both Conservative and Labour leaders.
In the June 3019 Wiltshire Legislative Elections, Canterbury led Wiltshire first to become the second largest party in the Wiltshire Provincial Assembly. This allowed him to form the National Coalition with the Green Party and the Liberal Alliance, led by Director Fillmore Grey. Under this government, Canterbury is the Leader of the Provincial Assembly.
In July 3019, Canterbury announced a bid for the Federal Presidency, running on a platform of "Anti-Novanitism". He stated that if Wiltshire voted to become independent, he would suspend his candidacy. However, he ended up suspending his candidacy prior to even this as his support fell and he said he wanted to "focus on ensuring a "Yes" vote in the referendum".
In August 3019, following the "No" vote in the referendum, Canterbury was one of the loudest proponents for incumbent Director Fillmore Grey's resignation. Following this, Canterbury announced that he would seek to succeed Grey as Leader of the National Party and Director of Wiltshire.
