Template:Nation infoboxNovenæ, appropriately nicknamed the City of Corporations, is a city-state located immediately south of Byfair in the Doggerlands. The idea for the city was originally proposed by TCH in mid-3018, with the goal of uniting corporations by focusing their efforts cooperatively on one single project. The idea was widely accepted and construction began soon after. Novenæ would serve as a neutral territory that all corporations could converge on, and future meetings involving the High Corporate Chamber would take place in Novenæ. The city would also serve as a global economic trade center, permitting and encouraging economic cooperation between corporations.

Government and Politics

Novenæ's government is a unicameral parliamentary republic, with parliament being composed of elected officials, various ambassadors from corporations with embassies in Novenæ, and individuals invited by the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister serves as the head of state. The current Prime Minister is an individual known as "H.R.", who took office in mid-3018 while the country's government was being built up.

As a result of the nature of the city, Novenæ is strictly disallowed from declaring war on other nations as per its legislature. Novenæ's "Law of Neutrality" is a pivotal part of its constitution, and only allows the country to take defensive rather than offensive measures.

Military

Interestingly, Novenæ does not hold a military of its own, and relies solely on donated troops and military equipment from the corporations that support the city. Military service is not required but optional for Novenæn citizens. The Department of Defense is responsible for delegating soldiers and procuring new military technology. Corporations that donate soldiers are given a cut of the defense budget, with the corporation with the most contributions receiving veto power within parliament.

Economy

Novenæ is one of the easiest cities for corporations to do business in, and is a major trade port for the Doggerlands. Corporations are often attracted and even encouraged to settle down in Novenæ, due to its' neutrality, regulations favoring businesses big and small, as well as strong protection of property rights.

Novenæ has been labeled a 'tax haven' due to its lack of heavy taxation against high-ranking corporate officials, and thus making it an ideal country for many billionares to settle down in.

Novenæ's currency is the Corporate Mark (CM).

Controversy

Novenæ's government recently came under fire due to it's handling of the Gray Death refugee crisis. Refugees, hoping to make it into Novenæ approached the border and were ordered to stop by security forces. A riot ensued, with Novenæ police barely being able to push back the refugees. The Novenæ Armed Forces were mobilized fully onto the scene- bringing with them flamethrowers and other anti-riot measures. An estimated 30,000 refugees were wounded, injured, or killed in the ordeal. Prime Minister H.R. has since offered an official apology for the incident, and claims that the government will be reviewing how they handle these incidents in the future.
